The Good Wife's Episode 20 is appropriately called The Deconstruction which is the show's way of saying, "What now for Alicia Florrick?" Based from the title, it is expected that this show is a dominant one as our main protagonist struggles to hold on to her position being the State Attorney after the vote-fraud scandal surfaces. Nonetheless, the forces around her may prevail and Florrick is forced to resign.
Aside from Alicia's issues for the upcoming episode, her firm partners face difficulties as they tackle a case that involves mandatory minimum sentence and goes headstrong against old-fashioned lawyers.
The developments in the story displease some fans. There is that speculation that if Alicia Florrick gives into the fraud accusations, then what is the point of putting her through the fierce battle that earns her the position and only to be taken back by the propaganda about fraud and fabricated evidence. If all was to make her realize that the world of politics is dirty, then the show breaks the news for her too much. Despite all of these, fans are still confident that The Deconstruction has something positive to offer Alicia as well as insights on what the protagonist faces in the show's last two episodes before the finale.
E News had the chance to interview Julianna Maguiles on Alicia Florrick's fate in the show as the season finale approaches. She reveals many clues including that it may not be the end for Alicia but the battles she has to face and the price she has to pay to keep the position might be too much for her.
"My guess is she's going to stay away from politics...I think she's so disgusted with the system," Margulies says.
The Good Wife is in a short hiatus to make way for the Academy Country Music Awards and The Deconstruction airs on Sunday April 26 at 9PM, CBS
