After playing Mr. Gru's sidekicks for two Despicable movies, the cute little yellow pills finally have their own movie Minions. It tells of their origin, how they have existed way before humans and their ultimate goal of finding the perfect villain master to serve. Before Mr. Gru, of course.
If you've seen the movies Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, I'm sure you're familiar with the little yellow pills who assist Mr. Gru throughout the movies. They may not always get the job done right, but they provide so much color to the movies that they make it much more enjoyable to watch. Never mind the gibberish they say, we still manage to understand what they mean, anyway.
In the Despicable movies, we were able to take a peek at some of the more memorable minions - Kevin, Stuart, and Bob. These three were in on most of the action, plus their distinct personalities make them so much fun to watch. In Minions, we get to see their origins, how they survived through history and the famous despicable villains they served before 1968. These awesome villains included T-rex, Dracula, the Egyptian Pharaohs, Napoleon Bonaparte, etc. But keeping a villain to serve can be very challenging. Most would usually die.
Depressed and finding life meaningless after their last villain died, Kevin, Bob, and Stuart decided to go off on an adventure to look for the baddest, meanest, most despicable villain to serve. They end up in Orlando's infamous 1968 Villain-con after a long journey and aspire to serve Scarlett Overkill, the reigning meanest villain.
Will they finally find meaning and purpose in life as Minions of Scarlett Overkill? Or are they in over their heads? Featuring the voices of Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, and Sandra Bullock as Scarlett Overkill, Minions will hit theaters on July 10 2015.
