Once Upon A Time's recent episode, Sympathy for De Vil highlights Emma Snow's fall to darkness. Spoilers for the next instalment show Emma faces the grown-up Lily as she visits Storybrooke and how the two transfroms from the best of friends to arch-enemies.
As a recap, Sympathy for De Vil speaks of everything but mercy as her past unveils the devil that she is and her death paves way for the birth of an even greater darkness. The Author, a.k.a. Isaac mentions of the woman she once loved and helped in England in 1920. Later on, he discovered that Cruella is the one responsible from the deaths of her mother's husband and not the other way around. His rage made him vow into making sure Cruella does not kill anyone again. To kill Isaac, She kidnaps Henry to consume her plans and plans to have Emma, Regina and Gold kill the Author. When Gold realizes Cruella's powerlessness to kill anyone that is how the plot makes the dramatic turn. Without knowing the truth of De Vil's inability to kill, Emma, the Saviour, makes her first slay as she blast Cruella off the cliff in order to rescue Henry. Although her action is mainly unexpected and many are worried of what the Saviour becomes, Once Upon A Time co-creator Adam Horowitz divulges Emma's act is inevitable.
"If you thought Emma was in danger of going dark from learning what her parents did, now we have to deal with the danger based on her own actions," Horowitz says. "Emma crossed a line." he continues.
In the Episode 20, spoilers show a flashback where Emma and Lily are still in foster care and it is highlighted that the fates of the two are intertwined. Upon Lily's return in Storybrooke, the two are meet again only to become arch-enemies in the future. Initially as friends, Emma swears to help Lily punish the persons that took her away from her Mother, Maleficent and teasers indicate the two suceeds and Lily is reunited with her mother. The spoilers leaves a lot for the imagination to fill though one thing is clear and that is the numerous "deadly" conflicts the two treads together. How is Emma's transformation to evil has something to do with her reunion with Lily? What dark roads are two going into?
