The versatile actor Johnny Depp, dressed himself for the fifth time in his best Keith-Richards-impersonation pirate costume. Pirates of the Caribbean franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer gives the true lowdown of the matter with a good mannered taunting yesterday on a social media.
"Captain Jack is back and we're not letting him go," the 71-year-old Bruckheimer playfully joked on Twitter.
In this latest installment, the very amusing drunken buccaneer won't find gold treasure but instead the wrathful anger of an old nemesis named Captain Salazar. The escaped captain along with his terrifying band of ghostly henchmen are on a pirate-murdering spree - which includes Captain Jack Sparrow in their bloody list. Sparrow's only glimmer of hope and for the rest of the wretched sea thieves is a legendary trident which is said to be owned by Poseidon. This said artifact grants anyone who possesses it absolute control over the seas.
Depp will be joined for first time in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales by Javier Bardem who will play the titular villain. Other newcomers are Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites and Golshifteh Farahani. Still returning for the "Pirates 5" are Geoffrey as Barbossa, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs and Stephen Graham as Scrum.
The principal photography started in February of 2015 with locations on Queensland, Australia. Unfortunately, Depp injured his hand on set and had to be flown back to the United States for treatment. The actor though was not filming during that early March incident. To make matters worst the non-set related hand injury kept almost half of the 400-person "Pirates 5" crew on a halt. The production began once more on April 15 when the actor had fully recuperated and is still slated for a July 7, 2017 release.
"Pirates 5" is directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning from a script by Jeff Nathanson.
