One of Fox's longest running reality TV Show "American Idol" that gave birth to powerhouse divas Kelly Clarkson, Jessica Sanchez, and etc. stirs up a major drama as Quentin Alexander, one of the finalists, had an on-air spat with one of the judges in the name of Harry Connick Jr.
During the live broadcast of top 7 American Classics night, it was settled that one of Alexander's close friends, Joey Cook, was in the danger of going home. Now, Alexander expressed his disapproval by calling it "wack" that Cook and Rayvon Owen were in the bottom two. Connick Jr. didn't appreciate Alexander's comment, and told he can always "go home."
To make it transparent, the New Orleans-based singer, 22, exclaimed his sentiment to host Ryan Seacrest: "This sucks. This whole thing is wack." As Alexander headed off the stage to his seat, Connick Jr. immediately fired a shotback: "Quentin, if it's that whack, you can always go home because 'Idol' is paying a lot of money to give you this experience," The "Idol" judge commented. "And for you to say that to this hand that is feeding you right now, I think is highly disrespectful," he finished.
In the end, Cook was sent home in favor of fellow contestant Owen. However, Alexander says he is not as "heartbroken" as he thought he would be when her best friend was purged from the show. Likewise, Cook, 24, will not be much woeful as she was now engaged with her boyfriend Evan, as she revealed on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Alexander told People after last week's broadcast that he's not happy with how Connick Jr. dealt with the situation. "What kind of threw me off was how [Harry] said, 'If you think it is wack, you can go home,'" Alexander opened. "He said I could leave. I know I can leave. He can leave as well, but he chooses to be here because he loves to do what he's doing. And that's the same for me ...." The "American Idol" Season 14 contestant continued. Now, due to strict rules about contestants associating with judges, Alexander and Connick Jr. haven't spoken since last week at the end of the live show.
Fox will be rehashing the confrontation between Alexander and Connick Jr. in a promo on this Wednesday's show to remind the viewers of what happened last week.
Well. What do you think of the dispute? Did the two parties only misunderstand each other? Who are you cheering for the top 6 of American Idol? It airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox so don't miss it!
