"The Amazing Spider-Man" co-stars Andre Garfield and Emma Stone have finally ended their long-term relationship of more than three years. Reports indicate that Stone broke up with Garfield due to the actor's anxieties playing the lead role for his upcoming movie Silence.
Emma Stone, 26, and Andrew Garfield, 31, have been together for more than three years. They were cast with lead roles on the movie "The Amazing Spider-Man" in 2011. Since then, they appeared compatible on and off the screen. When filming was about to conclude for the movie's first franchise, Stone and Garfield elevated their relationship and turned their love interest from movie to reality.
Garfield recently landed the lead role in the movie "Silence" by Martin Scorsese. While the actor was filming in Taiwan for the said movie, Stone was appearing in award shows without Garfield by her side which eventually spurred up talks about them having been broken up. During the Golden Globes and Oscars, Stone was nominated for Best Supporting Actress and it was odd how her long-time boyfriend was out of sight, failing to support his girlfriend's achievements. In fact, despite their lack of togetherness in public appearances, the last picture taken with them together was last January 5 during the Fox Searchlight dinner.
Reports then cleared speculations about the couple taking a break on their romantic relationship. However, recently, a source indicated that they are not just taking a break but are actually separated for good.
The said source revealed the reason behind the celebrity couple's break up: Garfield was in a dark place preparing for his role in "Silence"; and consequently, was not being much of a good boyfriend to Stone. Although it was also mentioned that Stone understood the anxieties that her boyfriend was going through especially having been lost 40 pounds for the role, she still managed to break up with him and move out from their New York abode and back to Los Angeles.
Do you think that "The Amazing Spider-Man" co-stars are really calling it quits for good or are Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone going to patch things up from when filming for Silence would come to an end? Post your comments below.
