Justice League: Gods and Monsters has released a trailer of the upcoming movie much to the delight of those who knew something else was up, and much to the confusion of those who did not have an inkling of what or where is Elseworld.
DC Comics Entertainment released the trailer featuring the other-worldly trio of Superman, Batman, and Super Woman brandishing different looks and costumes.
The trailer starts off with a television reporter delivering a story about an Embassy killing, followed by another news report announcing that the trio and their league are being accused of going on a killing spree at the Embassy.
The report refers to utter destruction at the site with victims apparently getting their blood sucked dry. The mayhem depicted in the news report could only be caused by the super powers of the League, leaving Superman to wonder who is framing them.
In a confrontation with the reporter, the darker more violent alter-Superman declares "If I deliver justice with a heavy hand it's because I've been on the receiving end."
In the Elseworld storyline of the animated film of producer and animator Bruce Timm IMDb describes the League as fighting with the government after being framed for the Embassy killing.
IGN describes the alternate version of the DC trio of the Justice League of America as having a Superman who is the son of Zod instead of his arch enemy. Wonder Woman looks more like a science fiction character rather than an Amazonian goddess. Batman is actually Kirk Langstrom who turns into a Man-bat and is pretty much capable of sucking blood.
Michael Hall is the voice of Batman, Tamara Taylor as Wonder Woman, and Benjamin Bratt as Superman.
Justice League: Gods and Monsters is scheduled to be released direct-to-DVD on Blu-Ray, and Digital HD in July 2015.
