South Park Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone Being Sued for Allegedly Appropriating "King Lollipop" (VIDEO)

By

Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of the popular, successful and irreverent South Park animated television series are being sued by a man who says they stole the King Lollipop character from him, The Wrap reported on Monday.

Complainant Exavier Wardlaw claims that South Park's "King Lollipop," who appeared in three episodes in 2009 in the show's "Imagionationland" trilogy, was a rip-off of the "Big Bad Lollipop" character, from his own, "The Lollipop Forest." Wardlaw filed papers in a Philadelphia federal court, claiming financial infringement.

A video of the trailer to the Lollipop Forest looks very different than South Park, and apparently, according to The Wrap report, Wardlaw is especially upset that his character appeared in a show that is markedly less wholesome.

"The 'South Park' television broadcast diminished/tarnished the value of 'The Lollipop Forest' as a wholesome family show by association within the context of unwholesome language and sexual innuendo," the complaint reads.

It seems unlikely that there is a resemblance between Big Bad Lollipop and King Lollipop, based on the video below, although Big Bad Lollipop doesn't exactly make an appearance.
