The outspoken Conservative political commentator Dinesh D'Souza resigned from his position as president of The King's College, a small liberal arts Christian college located in New York City's financial district, following allegations that he is having an affair.
D'Souza, who has attracted national attention with his ultra-conservative views, has most recently attracted attention for his anti-Obama film, "2016: Obama's Amercia," based on his New York Times bestseller. In it, he asks where the country will be in 2016 if Obama wins a second term.
An article in the evangelical magazine World, published Tuesday, accused D'Souza of sharing a hotel room with his alleged 29-year-old mistress and fiancée at a Christian conference in South Carolina in September, sparking the turn of events.
D'Souza denied the allegations in an op-ed piece posted on Foxnews.com.
"I met Denise three months ago," he wrote, referring to the woman mentioned in the World article. "We are not and have not been having an affair. Nor did we share a hotel room in Charlotte."
D'Souza also said he'd been separated from his wife, Dixie Brubaker, for two years and that the two were in the process of getting a divorce.
Further, he claimed that World editor, former George W. Bush adviser Marvin Olasky, who is also the former provost of The King's College was using him to carry out a vendetta against the institution, saying Olasky was "vehemently opposed" to his appointment.
