Fans of Shovel Knight are in for a treat as creator Yacht Club Games announces its rollout on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita this week. Along with the announcement, it is also confirmed that God of War's Kratos will be featured in an exclusive boss battle.
Shovel Knight is a classic adventure action game where players take on the role of Shovel Knight on a quest to rescue his beloved and along the way defeat the evil Enchantress. The game itself gives players a wave of nostalgia with classic quests and storyline familiar with old school gaming, as well as an 8-bit environment. Retro fee complete with lovable characters, great gameplay, and clever humor.
The game is reminiscent of old-school games of the 80s and 90s in Gameboys. It has themed stages, with numerous secrets, and relics and skills to master. Armors and weapons are also upgradable through gold collected throughout the game, and epic boss battles in each level. One such exclusive boss battle that got fans excited, the level where you get to battle with Kratos from God of War.
The Kratos boss battle is different from others in more ways than one. To start off, you must first find out how to uncover what they call a "double secret" in order to fight Kratos. And when you've uncovered the secret, fighting Kratos is extra challenging as, unlike other bosses, he has three different phases.
Needless to say, it is advised not to fight Kratos until you've mastered some impressive skills and have amassed enough gold to upgrade your armor and weapons, along with mastered relics. Still, preparing to fight Kratos will be of great help to you as Shovel Knight because defeating him will reward you with Grave Digger's Shovel that will help greatly with your quest.
With an epic boss battle to look forward to and fantastic gameplay, fans are ready for Shovel Knight to come to Sony's PlayStation consoles.
