NCIS Season 12 resumes airing on April 28 after it took a break this week, returning with more familiar faces on the show.
According to the NCIS media release the next episode titled "Troll" will treat long-time fans of the series to the return of some earlier characters.
The NCIS Cyber Operations Division is sending Special Agent Ned Dorneget to assist the team with the murder case of a navy warfare engineer who worked in the Naval Intelligence.
Dorneget is played by Matt Jones, along with returning Jamie Bamber who plays the NSA Attorney Jake Malloy. Malloy is the husband of Eleanor Bishop's (Emily Wickersham).
IBT reports that the episode will also have the team discovering that their Gibbs (Mark Harmon) has become friends with Jake after he helped Gibbs capture Sergei Michnev in episode 15.
An emotional Gibbs will also be seen sympathizing with homeless veterans while Abby (Pauley Perrette) tries to help a homeless woman return to her family.
CBS has released the storylines of the finale episodes. Coming up in episode 23 "The Lost Boys," the NCIS team continues to investigate a cyber case on terrorists referred to as "The Calling" recruiting children on the internet to carry out acts of terrorism and purchasing S-bombs off the black market.
In the finale episode 24, "Neverland", the team will be working with several law enforcement agencies to track the terrorist group, including CIA officer Joanna Teague played by Mimi Rogers, after an overseas bombing results in the NCIS team suffering "an emotional and surprising loss."
NCIS stars Harmon as Special Agent In Charge Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Michael Weatherly as the second in command Anthony DiNozzo, Perette as forensic specialist Abby Sciuto, David MacCallum as Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Donald Mallard, Sean Murray as agent Timothy McGee, and Wickersham as probationary agent Bishop.
NCIS Season 12 will air its last episodes of the season on May 5 and 12.
