The next NCIS: Los Angeles Season 6 installment of the 3-part finale will have the team search for a former Marine and expert sniper, which leads Special Agent Kensi Blye to remember what she did before joining the naval investigation team.
The NCISLA-Source of a CBS media release for Episode 22 "Field of Fire" describes how the team pursues the missing emotionally-unstable expert sniper, a decorated war veteran who escapes from a veterans' hospital. The naval team turns up a connection between the sniper and an extremist group leader.
In the CBS television promo, agent Senior Field Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J) tells Supervisory Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O'Donell), "We send guys to war and expect them to step up. And when they come back all broken we step away."
The NCIS: Los Angeles Season 6 trailer goes on to ask "How do you take the life of an American hero?" as agent Blye (Daniela Ruah) prepares to pull the trigger on the war hero with NCIS Assistant Director Owen Granger (Miguel Ferrer) ordering "Kensi, take the shot now."
Agent in Charge/Operations Manager Henrietta "Hetty" Lange (Linda Hunt), LAPD Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), Technical Operator Eric Beale (Barrett Foa), and Intelligence Analyst Nell Jones (Renée Felice Smith) help Kensi, Sam, and Callen track down the former marine sniper.
Internet Movie Database lists the episode guest stars as including Rowena King (Dr. Camille Rivers), Madison Grace (Lisa Rutnam), Shawn Parikh (Vamsi Patel), Lilli Birdsell (Carol Rutnam), Jonathan Schmock (Fred Kington), Robert Craighead (Homeless Man), Mila Brener (Girl), Derek Mio (Nurse Michael Takahamo) and Troy Mittleider (Marine Gunnery Sergeant Connor Rutnam).
"Field of Fire" is directed by Robert Florio ("Exposure," "Raven and the Swans") from a script by Gil Grant ("Forest for the Trees", "Windfall").
