For "Pokemon Omega Ruby" and "Pokemon Alpha Sapphire" players who figure they might just opt to bypass downloading the newest update for the game because they don't have enough space will have to reconsider if they want to continue playing online.
That's correct, if players have designs on playing the latest Pokemon games online, then they need to download the latest update, according to Nintendo Life. While the "required" update may seem to be a bit demanding, the good news is that it won't take up a lot of space. The newest patch for "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire" comes in at around 34 MB or 271 blocks in Nintendo 3DS parlance, according to Serebii.
The patch is also worth downloading not just for players who want to go online, but also because it improves the game itself as updates often do. The latest patch will fix some of the bugs that have been plaguing the game for a while now, and it will also address some of the errors found in the in-game text, according to the International Business Times.
The new patch is also expected to fix some of the lingering issues the game has in terms of players using hacks and exploits to manipulate the game.
In addition to the update coming to both "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire," "Pokemon X" and "Pokemon Y" also received new patches. Similar to the updates for "Omega Ruby" and "Alpha Sapphire," the size of the patches for these games are not expected to take up too much room on the 3DS. Bugs and in-game text will also be fixed by these new patches.
Aside from what appears to be some minor cleaning coming via the patches, no other significant additions have been announced as part of the updates. Nintendo could easily make additional announcements soon, but the safe bet seems to be that there is no more news waiting in the wings.
