It wasn't meant to be for actress Eva Longoria, 37, and New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, 25.
The couple has officially broken up after three months of dating, Sanchez's rep confirmed to US Weekly Tuesday, as reported by The Daily News.
They decided to end things before the Sunday New England Patriots game, The New York Post reported, based on comments by someone close to Sanchez.
Reportedly Sanchez is "devastated" by the breakup.
Sanchez' intense focus on his football career and Longoria's focus on her career as a businesswoman, were given as reasons for the split, as reported by the source to the Post. Longoria is reportedly doing a lot of philanthropic and political work, as well as developing television shows.
It can't help that she lives in Los Angeles, while Sanchez lives in Bedminster, New Jersey.
"She's more 'Hollywood' than he is," another source close to the story told The Post. "Her people are always around, and (Mark) didn't like that."
The 12-year age difference between the two was also given as a reason.
Despite being devastated Sanchez was spotted "flirting and dancing with some blond" at the Darby Downstairs nightclub on W. 14th St early Saturday morning, The New York Post's Page Six, Confidenti@l reported.
Mark adores and respects Eva," Sanchez's spokesman said. "It really was about scheduling more than anything else. They will remain close friends."
