Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that "Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will be released this year as the final installment in the "Naruto: Ultimate Ninja" series. Changes in its gameplay include enhanced wall fighting and leader change system but the plot will still be based on the story from the manga.
"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will bring new experience to the "Ninja Storm" gamers as it enhanced the gameplay from previous installments like the wall fighting. Switching of lead characters is a new addition to the game's techniques.
In "Naruto Ninja Storm," one player could run up the wall and fight while the other player can stay on the ground. Previous "Storm" versions force both players to fight on the wall even though only one player initiated it. The leaders switch feature will also be introduced wherein players can switch leader characters even in a heated battle. To balance the number of players per team, there will only be one life gauge between all characters. Once Awakening mode is activated, it stays active even when players switch leader characters.
According to a report, "Ninja Storm 4" will feature the most number of fighters compared to the previous installments. The staggering list includes characters from the fight between Hajirama and Madara and even some from "The Last: Naruto the Movie." The game will also have a Shinobi World War remake.
CyberConnect2 boss Hiroshi Maruyama described the changes in the game's visual now that it will also be released in PS4 and Xbox. Maruyama said that they recreated their engine from scratch using PC as the base.
"From there [PC], we port the game to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The new engine takes the anime presentation from PS3 and Xbox 360 and goes beyond what we've been able to do with the game's visuals." He continued, "Now, we can add more elements for players to see in the stage as they are fighting. Also, when a character uses a jutsu we can show environmental damage like shattered ground or burnt areas after fire has been used."
"Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4" will be released by Bandai Namco, dropping in Japan this fall. It will feature enhanced technique from previous versions like wall fighting and add the leader switch in its gameplay. The fighting game will be the sixth and final installment in the "Ultimate Ninja Storm" series developed by CyberConnect2.
