The erotic novel of E.L. James was recently depicted into a movie and released "Fifty Shades of Grey" last February 14, 2015. The movie was a tremendous success as it earned $554 million as audience were excited to see the erotic novel turned into reality in the big screen.
Despite speculations arose that he will not be participating in the two succeeding movie franchises of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" series, Jamie Dornan has confirmed that he will, in fact, continue to play Christian Grey for the last two renditions. Reports arose that he was not supposed to play the role again due to his wife feeling uncomfortable seeing his husband do erotic scenes on screen with another woman. Nonetheless, Dornan has signed a contract to continue his role throughout the series.
Dakota Johnson, the actress who plays Anastacia Steele in the movie, has also confirmed her participation for both "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed". Additionally, Rita Ora, a British singer/actress, also followed suit as she revealed that she will continue playing the role of Mia Grey, Christian Grey's sister.
Although casting of the lead roles are already set, there are still several spots to fill. With this, reports indicate that Charlize Theron will join the "Fifty Shades Darker" cast as she plays Elena Lincoln, the Mrs. Robinson, Christian Grey's first submissive-dominant partner.
Additionally, Sam Taylor-Johnson, "Fifty Shades of Grey" director, will not be participating in the two remaining movie franchises of E.L. James' novels as confirmed by his public statement. This was due to several disagreements with the author about how the first movie was supposed to be portrayed. Despite their differences, the director wishes the two remaining productions with continued success as the author's husband, Niall Leonard, will take the role as scriptwriter for the two movies. Currently, there has been no revelation as to who will fill the shoes of Taylor-Johnson
"Fifty Shades Darker" will release come February 2017 as "Fifty Shades Freed" will follow on February 2018.
