Last week, LG officially announced the availability of its latest LG Watch Urbane. Now, the smartwatch has already started to roll out of South Korea, and it's expected to reach other countries by the end of the month. In fact, the device is now available on Google Store.
The LG Watch Urbane is positioned as more of a luxury watch. It boasts a high-quality leather strap and a steel body with a remarkable wearable technology inside. It's designed with either gold or silver watch face to give it a more refined look. The leather band has a fine stitching showing LG's delicate craftsmanship.
The watch features an ultra-clear display that enables users to view the watch at any angle. This is because of the 320 x 320 pixel Plastic OLED watch face display that allows clear imagery despite the brightness of direct sunlight. It is also coated with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass to make the display durable. The watch runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.2 GHz clock speed. This is paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and powered by a 410mAh battery.
Other surprising features of the new LG Watch include an IP67 water resistance that can sit in up to 3 feet of water, a WiFi module as well as Bluetooth, which were not present in the previous Android smartwatch.
Another interesting details on the LG Watch Urbane is that tech gadgets experts and analysts have figured that both Apple Watch and Android Wear share competent features, except for that Apple still hasn't included the Android Wear App yet. The LG Watch Urbane will continually be distributed to places outside South Korea. It is also made available on Google Store with a price tag of US$350, making it the most expensive Android wearable by far with its premium design, a metal casing, and a fully round screen.
