On his official Facebook page, Smith revealed that after 430 episodes in the course of four years, his role as Sonny has finally come to an end. He also thanked his friends, family and fans for the outpouring of support that he has received.
Smith also said that DOOL gave him "one of the most amazing experiences" in his life and that he will always consider the show as his "home away from home." Now that Smith has confirmed that he is leaving the show, DOOL fans were left wondering how his character would exit the show.
Some DOOL fans wonder if his character would be killed off, but Celeb Dirty Laundry noted that Smith is always welcome to return to the show whenever he wants to. This rumor has led many fans to believe that Sonny may just be leaving Salem.
