Lizzie McGuire was perhaps one of the most defining TV shows of a generation. The show showcased a clumsy teenager dealing with normal teenage problems like boys, peer pressure, and grades. Many of its fans would agree that it was one of Disney Channel's best shows.
Fans of Lizzie McGuire were delighted when the Lizzie McGuire reunion happened. Hilary Duff and her former co-stars had reunited for an epic night out on the town. The recently divorced mom, who played the titular character on the show had reunited with Lalaine and Jake Thomas on April 27. Lalaine played Lizzie's best gal pal, Miranda Sanchez, while Jake played Matt, Lizzie's bratty younger brother. Jake Thomas captured the nostalgic moment and posted it on his Instagram.
"So this happened last night..." the post read.
The Lizzie McGuire cast had managed to keep in touch over the years despite the show ending 11 years ago. Duff would go on and pursue a career in both film and music. She would even later write her own young adult book series. While her co-stars would take a quiter career path, that didn't stop them from having the odd reunion here and there.
The post also led to some speculations that there will be a Lizzie McGuire reboot. Reactions to that rumor were pretty mixed as some people would like to keep old shows just the way they were.
Just three months ago, Jake and Lalaine had reunited with another former co-star Clayton Snyder, who played Lizzie's crush Ethan Craft. Fans are now hoping that Adam Lamberg would be joining the reunion bandwagon.
Duff had recently divorced her husband Mike Comrie, and is now making a career comeback after leading a quieter life. The newly single mom had most recently tried her luck on Tinder, saying that she is "not dating but is talking to some guys as of the moment."
"The first thing is obviously looks, but also natural chemistry. What they say in their profile has to be funny. I don't want to see a shirtless, mirror selfie. That is instantly a left." Duff said.
