iZombie has finally reached its halfway point last Tuesday when it aired episode 7 or season 1 entitled, "Matenity Liv."
From the title itself, the persona that Liv adopts is that of Emily Sparrow's, who is a pregnant and long-missing woman who was found dying in the woods. When Liv eats her brain, the maternal instincts she manifested were mainly on making a fuss with her co-workers by telling them to eat healthy and by grooming their hair.
On the other hand, Lowell devours on a gay man's brain so his romantic relationship with Liv was put to a momentary halt.
The recap from AV Club also points out how the iZombie episode continued the trail of the bigger plot of the series, particularly how Clive's boss is involved in the greater zombie phenomenon. The Lieutenant also shot down the culprit in Emily Sparrow's case, which causes some suspicion which fans hope to get answers to from the coming episodes.
Headline Planet pulls out some statistics to compare iZombie with another series on its first season, "The Flash"; the latter, though, is already ahead in terms of the number of episodes.
iZombie was noted to have an increased rating of 0.7 in the 18-49 years old adults category from its episode last Tuesday, which had 1.69 million viewers. "The Flash" has received a 1.5 rating with 3.93mil viewers for adults 18-49. This certainly creates a bar for the zombie series to reach in its coming episodes.
In terms of the cast, news on whether Bradley James, who plays Lowell, will stay longer is coming about. Fortunately for the actor's fans, TV Line shares a statement from Rob Thomas, series co-creator, which goes, "We knew from the moment we saw Liv and Lowell on screen that Lowell wasn't going away any time soon."
iZombie is definitely in for an interesting turn of events in the next half of the season. Viewers should expect to see more from Liv and Lowell's relationship as well as from the main story on the zombie conspiracy.
