Last week, the internet was buzzing with rumors and reports about the character line ups for Disney Infinity 3.0. Fans were clamoring for more, and word spread quickly about the new toys. But the bigwigs over at Disney have kept quiet about this, neither confirming nor denying the rumors. In fact, they have not commented on the issue at all. There have also been reports that Disney has asked some of the website posting the leak photos to take them down. They must be really serious about keeping everything under wraps.
The said leaks were accidentally revealed by their partner Chinese retailer Taobao. These were then spotted by Disney Infinity fans and were then reposted in several bogs. The figurines were of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Mulan, Olaf, Quorra, Sam Flyn, and a bunch of characters from the upcoming Disney Pixar film Inside Out. There were also rumors of some Star Wars characters. But since then, the images have been removed and there is no word from Disney to deny or confirm any of these. We'll just have to speculate, then.
Could it be that the new characters/ figurines is Disney's way of making an entirely new playset for Disney Infinity 3.0? Fans are also wondering if the third installment of Infinity should be bought separately or can the Infinity 2.0 Base be upgraded instead? Also, can Infinity 3.0 be played with Infinity 2.0 playsets?
