With the release date of "Final Fantasy IV: The After Years" for the PC bearing down on diehard RPG fans, they can now get started on preparing for the game thanks to the recently released system requirements for it.
To no one's surprise, the game doesn't exactly need a lot to run well on the PC, with the most demanding of its requirements being 950MB of available space on the hard disk. The rest of the requirements includes a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, either Windows 7 or 8, and DirectX version 10, according to Game Idealist. Players will also need a registered Steam account to complete the activation and installation of the game.
"Final Fantasy IV: The After Years" will cost $15.99, but Steam is currently offering a special pre-purchase price for the game of just $14.39, so gamers will have to weigh whether $15 is the right price for a dose of nostalgia. In case, "Final Fantasy" fans or just RPG fans are still confused in general over whether or not they should buy the game, they should know that it is the sequel to "Final Fantasy IV" taking place 20 years after the events of the original game, according to iDigital Times.
New characters will be introduced in the new game including Ceodore, the son of Cecil and Rosa. Players who may never have played the original "Final Fantasy IV" game who may be looking at purchasing its sequel will be glad to know the original is also available via Steam. That way, they can get the full story spanning the two games right away.
"Final Fantasy IV: The After Years" was originally released as a mobile game in Japan back in 2008 before it made its way to North America and Europe the following year. "Final Fantasy IV: The After Years" will be available starting May 12, according to Siliconera.
