Bravely Second: End Layer Release Update: StreetPass Event Underway; Game Sequel Coming?

Bravely Second: End Layer takes Japan by storm as it reaches over 100,000 sales in the first week following its debut. Famitsu reveals limited time costumes that players can get in the StreetPass event in different parts of Japan. Tomoya Asano shares that he is already planning for a Bravely Third.

Square Enix released Bravely Second: End Layer, the sequel of Bravely Default, in Japan last week exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. Bravely Second has now surpassed a whopping 100,000 units sold, specifically, 100,047. Although the role-playing game scored lower than its predecessor Bravely Default, which was released in 2012 and sold 141,529 copies in its launch week, Bravely Second still topped Japan's Media Create charts by a large extent.

Following the release of Bravely Second, the game is getting a special StreetPass event in different parts of Japan. This would allow players to get limited time costumes for Edea, Magnolia, and Yu which may be unique to different StreetPass locations. For instance, Famitsu reveals that a certain limited time costume for Edea can only be found in Tokyo's Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba shop, Magnolia's is in the Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Umeda shop in Osaka, and Yu's costume is in Futaba Tosho TERA Wonder City Store at Nagoya. All three costumes are found in different StreetPass locations in three different cities in Japan.

However, players cannot partake in the StreetPass event unless they have reached a certain point in the game. They will encounter different forms of the Swordmaster depending on where and which costume they hope to get. With Yu's Onion Knight Outift, players will encounter StreetPassizumikyo from Tokyo, StreetPassizumisaka from Osaka, and StreetPassizumiya from Nagoya.

Recently, producer Tomoya Asano revealed that he is already planning for another entry in the Bravely series. "It might make you say 'What?!' given the timing, but I already have the concept for Bravely Third in me. If sales for [Bravely Second] are good enough, I'm planning to immediately submit a proposal. Please give me your support!" Asano said. With the booming sales of Bravely Second, a third instalment is a huge possibility.

Bravely Second: End Layer is now available in Japan exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. Square Enix have not yet announced the game's release in the West but it could most possibly come soon.
