It may be coming from a highly unlikely source, but it looks as though the sequel to the popular open-world action game Watch Dogs may be coming soon.
The source for this news is the LinkedIn profile of a senior Ubisoft gameplay programmer by the name of Julien Risse, according to Polygon.
Risse works, or at least worked at Ubisoft Paris, but it appears as though the unintentional leak may have caused the programmer a very valuable job. Risse has removed Watch Dogs 2 from the LinkedIn profile in question, so that can either mean the programmer is now off the project or just told to take better care of the information.
Risse has also worked on the original Watch Dogs and Bad Blood if the LinkedIn profile is indeed telling the truth, so the programmer's involvement in the sequel would not be any surprise.
As of now though, Ubisoft has not offered any comment on Risse or whether or not a sequel to Watch Dogs is indeed in development.
Despite the silent front the company is putting on at the moment, Ubisoft has at the very least made passing references in terms of what they want to do for Watch Dogs 2.
Back in September of 2014, Ubisoft Montreal Vice President Lionel Raynaud said one of the main points they want to work on is fixing the problems in Watch Dogs and using what worked in that game for its sequel, according to PC Gamer.
More of the company's thoughts about the game came out in January of this year when Ubisoft's Creative Director Jonathan Morin said that the original Watch Dogs was imperfect and that the sequel needed to feature more risks taken on the part of the development team, according to IGN.
Watch Dogs has not been confirmed by Ubisoft as of the moment.
