Good news for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire fans, the games' latest update has already been rolled out last week and is ready for download. This update is mandatory if you want to continue playing with online access, and it also adds bug fixes and a few new online features.
The latest update is patch 1.4 for both Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire is the fifth update since the very first version. This update can be downloaded manually and the update can be executed over the air - meaning there is no need for cables, you just need a wireless internet connection to complete the update. At only about 250-270 block each, the file size won't weigh down your Nintendo 3DS.
Download and update process commences by starting the game while connected to the internet. A message will automatically appear and prompt you to update the game. You can then press the "Update" button or just press "Y". Select "Download now" and press "Yes" to start the process. You will know that the update was successful when the title shows version 1.4. Another option to download the upgrade is through the Nintendo eShop, where you can view additional details regarding the patch.
It should be noted that without this latest update, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire players will not be able to access online content. So go ahead and get the update. Once it is successfully downloaded and updated, online content such as connection to the Global Trade Station, the Wonder Trade option, the Game Sync option, as well as the redeeming of Mystery Gifts and the Player Search System for connecting with other fans can easily be accessed.
Other than those mentioned above, there isn't much that the patch notes reveal about the new update. The patch notes found in the Nintendo 3DS eShop only states: "Various Bugs have been fixed in order to provide a smoother gaming experience."
