Aquarius Release Date: The David Duchovny-Led Series To Stream After Its Launch On May 28

By

The broadcast network NBC announced that the upcoming David Duchovny-led series Aquarius is in the works on NBC.com, the NBC app, and other on-demand video platforms soon after the network's two-hour series debut come May 28.

Aquarius' timeline is a couple of years before the 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders and it gives snapshots of the infamous Charles Manson as described through the eyes of a veteran detective (Duchovny).

However, there is a catch, the episodes will be shown only for only four weeks, perhaps, to lure marathon watching. Viewers can go on watching the episodes on NBC (to be aired every Thursday as per time slot at 9 p.m.) it depends if they fail to finish within that period, or if they prefer the week-to-week viewing.

The show is only open for a few advertising partners to assure linear broadcast on NBC showing commercials on VOD platforms. In effect, the advertisers purchased time on both platforms purposely to limit disruption on and off air, the network said.

Aquarius has opened the venue to introduce some new horizon thus giving the audience what no other broadcast has ever done in the past, claimed President Bob Greenblatt in a statement. He further stressed that they are totally sensitive to the viewers' need to enjoy a lot of installments of new television series faster and at their own convenience.

Whatever happens after this new concept is merely anticipative, whether this will be rewarding to NBC or not.

The series was first adopted by Netflix who foresaw that we think is feasible (there are no streaming figures from Netflix). Consequently, Amazon followed with their collection of originals.

This is truly innovative in broadcast, which includes the release of installments and the idea that t hey will broadcast on regular television. Let us know what you think about this news by leaving your comments below.
