The eagerly awaited Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord PC release is hinted to launch Xbox One and PS4 consoles, Turkish news outlet, Turuncu Levye has revealed.
"During our interview with Co-Founder and Lead Designer of TaleWorlds Entertainment, Armagan Yavuz, he said Bannerlord is being worked on precisely for consoles," the article wrote.
NeoGaf users did some loose translations from the interview. RamzalsCool tipped that one of the interviewers in the video said that he saw Xbox Ones and PS4s in one of the rooms at the office of game developer TaleWorlds Entertainment.
According to the leakster, Yavus gave a vague reply when asked for a time frame fans could a more solid information on the next installment of the medieval warfare game. Digital Spy reported, however, that Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord will be developed more as a platform rather than a game by providing tools to modders so as to keep a content expansion.
If there's truth to this rumor, it will be first for the game franchise to a non-PC hardware exclusive. The purported article, although, being written in Turkish, was posted with a video revealing additional details regarding the next main title.
Online reports wrote that Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord setting revolves around 200 years before the events of Mount and Blade: Warband. The real-world equivalent for the game's time setting is around the fall of the Roman empire which paved the rise of the medieval European kingdoms. The game is said to draw inspiration from 600-1200 AD for its armor, weapons and architecture.
TaleWorlds Entertainment producer Vishnu Vijayakumar has indeed hinted that the studio has in mind to release Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord on PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
"it is a little too early to talk about the possibility of a console release right now. It is something that we have in our minds and the project is not confirmed," Vijayukumar said.
Moreover, a TaleWorlds staff has allegedly commented that the console build was being developed by a separate team while the PC build is feature complete.
Apparently, there is not much revealed at the moment regarding the Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord release to PC as well as on the rumored Xbox One and PS4 versions.TaleWorlds Entertainment still has to make an official statement, hopefully, soon.
