Rapper P Diddy placed bet on Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. for the "Battle for Greatness" fight against Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. The rapper challenged Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg with $250,000 bet as he roots for Mayweather Jr.
Rapper P Diddy uploaded a video on Instagram showing that he and actor Mark Wahlberg sealed the deal on a $250,000 bet regarding the "Battle for Greatness" match between undefeated Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. and Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao.
Diddy and Mark Wahlberg videoed themselves shaking hands on the said deal. They were at a poolside although it was not clear where the two met and where they made the deal. Diddy originally placed a bet amounting to $100,000 but Wahlberg said it was too low resulting to the two agreeing on the above-mentioned amount.
The rapper captioned the photo with the following message: "I'm rolling with The Money Team! @MarkWahlberg said he got Pacquiao! Watch this and tell me who you got!? @Aquahydrate @jamescruz1 #MayPac."
The much-anticipated and much-talked about fight of the century took place on Sunday, May 3, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mayweather Jr. ended up winning the fight but a lot of celebrities expressed their dismay over the results and how the fight ensued.
A lot of Hollywood celebrities took to Twitter to voice their opinion regarding the said game as the match was said to have not lived up to its media hype.
Actress and director Elizabeth Banks tweeted this: "Floyd Mayweather is an incredible fighter, but he just bored me out of $100. #MayPac." As for Jimmy Kimmel, who even guested Pacquiao weeks ago in his show "Jimmy Kimmel Live," he said that it was very disappointing but still thanked the Filipino boxer for allowing him to be part of his entrance.
Mario Lopez of "Extra" called the game anticlimactic while Chris Pratt and Anna Kendrick focused on the appearance of Burger King at one point of the fight.
Aside from the tweets, celebrities who were spotted by the Daily Mail at the "Fight of the Century" itself were Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Ben Affleck, Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Denzel Washington, Jay Z and many more. These celebrities reportedly watched from the ringside of the history's biggest and most expensive fight.
The "Fight of the Century" was dubbed as a snooze fest and was a disappointment to a lot of viewers. P. Diddy winning the bet against Wahlberg is just all for the money and not for the show. What do you think about the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight?
