Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has started shooting and Megan Fox is back to reprise her role as April O'Neil. Arrow's Stephen Amell is confirmed to have joined the cast as Casey Jones, an ally of the Turtles.
Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be happy to know that the movie's sequel has started shooting. Pictures from the scenes shot around Grand Central are all over the internet and it is confirmed that Megan Fox is back as April O'Neil. This time, she'll be in on a little bit more action as compared to the previous movie. Expect her role to be a little bit more "useful" as a reporter, than merely a human companion of the Turtles.
Another exciting development in the TMNT 2 movie is the casting of Stephen Amell as Casey Jones. For those who are not very familiar with the TMNT story line, Casey Jones is a hockey-mask wearing vigilante who becomes a friend and ally to the Turtles. He uses a lot of different sports accessories as weapons, but his most notable weapon is the hockey stick. Casey Jones usually appears grunge-looking sometimes with long hair (in the comics version of TMNT), but is often seen wearing the hockey mask. In the movie, it seems that Amell's version of the vigilante is clean-cut.
Other actors confirmed to join the TMNT 2 cast are three-time Oscar nominated Laura Linney, and Will Arnett, who comes back to reprise his role from the first movie. Linney's role is still not clear as production has kept it hush-hush for now. Other actors coming back to reprise their roles are Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, and Noel Fisher as Michelangelo.
Despite the shooting officially starting, no other details about the plot and other additional characters have been announced yet. But with Megan Fox back and Stephen Amell on board, things are getting pretty fly for TMNT 2. The movie is set for a June 3, 2016 release date.
