Fans of the "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" are celebrating the return of two of the most favorite characters in the movie franchise, Hans Solo and Chewbacca. Harrison Ford reprises his role as Hans Solo while Chewbacca is played by actor Peter Mayhew. The two joins the brand new breed of Jedi's featured in the upcoming film.
The latest trailer of the movie "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" highlights the return of Hans Solo together with trusted ally Chewbacca. The three magic words that completed the dreams and aspirations of Star Wars fans have finally come true, "Chewie, we're home.
Even the movie's director J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy are delighted over the return of Harrison Ford as Hans Solo in the movie. The two were not able to contain details on how they didn't wanted to be part of the franchise in the during the very first Star Wars movie.
"As any of you can imagine, it is an incredibly daunting task," Kennedy revealed during the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim. She also claimed that her experience with the Indiana Jones movies, together with Harrison Ford and others helped her prepare for the job. Abrams on the other hand was not comfortable with the concept of a movie franchise, but after having a conversation with Kennedy, it became impossible for him to say no.
Harrison Ford, who was recently involved in a plane crash was absent during the events but he is well and at home recovering from his injuries.
"The amazing thing about Harrison is that he's the only person who could make an emergency landing on a golf course in front of two doctors," a giggling Kennedy shared. "He's at home, resting."
Hans Solo and Chewbacca's really calls for a celebration because the two have been missed in the past Star Wars movie. In the "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" movie, Hans Solo is expected to become a mentor of sorts to the new Jedi's featured in the film. Darth Vader is also set to return according to previous reports. If he does, the movie will somehow be a reunion of sorts for the originals heroes and villains in the movie.
The "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" introduces three new lead actors, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Daisy Ridley as the Rey, the first female Jedi to be featured in the franchise. The three actors will set on a journey that will create a new legacy for the Star Wars franchise.
Anthony Daniels, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew and Mark Hamill are also highlighted in the upcoming film. The "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" movie will be released on cinemas on December 18, 2015.
