According to one source wherein there was a debate whether Pistorius is guilty of murder, more followers of the case believed that he is. They say that it was nearly impossible for him not to hear Reeva Steenkamp's voice if he did ask for her response. Locking herself in a bathroom wasn't a good alibi too. Aside from that, their neighbors heard screams prior incident. And according to Steenkamp's mom, she knew that her daughter was domestically abused by Pistorius and that she wanted to leave him.

However, there are Pistorius' supporters who believed that it was just an accident. The fact that he doesn't have legs may have caused him to fear for his life.

Meanwhile, June Steenkamp, the mother of Pistorius' ex-girlfriend, gave advice for those women who are experiencing domestic violence. She believes that one should get help or get out in order to save themselves. Her daughter dated Pistorius for three months and no one expected that it will end tragically. She believed that people who hurt their partners would like to control them. And because Pistorius couldn't control Steenkamp, the abuse started.
