"Barbershop 3" has just released an update for all the fans of the film and it includes a report about rapper Nicki Minaj. The rumored newly-engaged rapper is said to be playing a part in the said film after debuting last year in a supporting role for the hit flick "The Other Woman."
This is the latest update for "Barbershop 3" as director Malcolm D. Lee tweeted about the new members of the cast. Nikki Minaj is said to be playing the role of a certain Draya, a hairdresser who works in the beauty shop section of the barbershop.
Aside from Minaj, Deon Cole also made it to the cast of "Barbershop 3" and he will be playing a character named Dante. His role is said to be a fixture at the shop who will be sharing his sharp comments on anything he thinks of under the sun. However, Cole will be playing a really old man in the film so his cultural references are no longer relatable by many since he is out of date.
Lee was the one who directed "The Best Man" and its hit sequel "The Best Man Holiday" and he is reportedly halfway through the movie's casting. "Barbershop 3" was written by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver and will be produced by Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr.
"Barbershop" and "Barbershop 2: Back In Business" grossed over $140 million worldwide. It originally starred Ice Cube and Cedric. These two will still be in the third part of the film including Hall, Eve, Minaj, and Common. Most of the cast members are known for their contribution in music. Minaj, Hall, and Common are the newcomers in the barbershop.
The plot details for "Barbershop 3" have not yet been revealed but it might be patterned on the first two films of the movie. The cast for this movie is definitely star-studded but there still isn't any release date regarding this film. Are you guys excited for "Barbershop 3"?
