OnePlus One CyanogenMod 12S Update: 5 Quick Tweaks and Carrier Fixes to Know

By

Sounds incredulous for OnePlus to get first access to the CyanogenMod 12S, a release-ready version of Lollipop by the company which has since cut its ties with the Chinese smartphone maker. Of course, suddenly it has become quite a joyride for OnePlus users, for now they are faced with two somewhat divergent paths and it's up for them to decide: Will they stick around for the CyanogenMod updates which may come with more in time or will they embrace the soon-to-be released Oxygen OS which under our calculation should be available very soon - if not already.

To note, OnePlus is developing a version of the OxygenOS for China market dubbed as "H2OS."

But even with all the talk about the power of CyanogenMod 12S, there is still a lot left to be desired. Unfortunately enough, being the first to taste this OS pudding makes you some sort of a guinea pig - not unlike the slow and deliberate roll-out of Windows 10 currently under watchful eyes of Microsoft engineers.

For those who are wandering if help is going to come anytime soon, here are 5 tweaks you can avail of for your CyanogenMod 12S complications:

  • SMS Sending Problems

First enter the default messenger. Then click 3 vertical dots situated on the top right. Go >> Settings>> Auto-Enable Data>> and toggle it to ON.

Bear in mind that your issue might be with your carrier. No matter how you adjust your mobile if your carrier has cut you off, you won't be able to send text.

  • Problem with SIM Card detection

To go past this issue, go to Settings first.

Then Security>> Set up SIM/RUIM Card Lock.

  • Your Dialer and Contacts not showing

Go to Settings>> Theme>> System>> Apply

  • Unappealing Cyanogen OS 12 theme

Go to Settings>> Theme>> System>> Apply

  • Decrease settings options

Locate Settings>> About>> Advanced Mode>> set to On.

These tweaks for the OnePlus One have been first been posted by OnePlus forum expert member indest and have largely been successful. But as mentioned before, somewhere somehow OnePlus users may have to take a look at OxygenOS and consider it over Cyanogen, even with this latest CyanogenMod 12S update.
