New updates are rarely without problems plaguing them, and the same holds true for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 as it has led to some users being inconvenienced by what was supposed to be a welcome addition.
Some of the reported issues concerning the update include problems such as the battery running out way too quickly, the phone lagging, and some of the running apps closing all of a sudden, according to iDigital Times. None of those should be plaguing phones, especially with all of the constant improvement being made to smartphones with each passing day, but with those problems already in place, the best way to handle them is to provide a working solution.
Unfortunately, one of the proposed fixes for the problems plaguing the 5.0 update is drastic, but it can be pulled off without any issue if users are careful. What users can do is to implement a factory reset for their respective devices in an attempt to fix the buggy update. Doing this will mean loss of all data on the device on the phone, so users should back them up accordingly on different devices, and as long as that step is taken, then the issue should be resolved.
Another problem concerning the update is that some users are unable to download it altogether, according to Gotta Be Mobile. For this particular issue, users can either try to use a faster Internet connection to execute the download or drain their battery, recharge it back to 100% and then attempt the download once again. If any of these proposed fixes still are not working, then the best course of action may be to simply wait for Samsung themselves to address the problem.
According to NDTV, Samsung is currently working on micro-updates for the 5.0 update in an attempt to fix the issues it presents. Samsung has not provided any release date for the micro-updates, so users stuck with problematic phones may have no other option than to just wait patiently.
