2014's critically acclaimed vengeance action film; John Wick is seeking a comeback. With barely a year over, Keannu Reeves is set to portray the ex-hitman with a penchant for cute puppies once more in the big screen.

Liongate Films confirmed that they had greenlit the sequel and that along with Reeves, David Leitch and Chad Stahelsk will also be returning as directors for the movie. John Wick revolves around a legendary assassin who has gone out of retirement and goes in a face-shooting rampage. Wick and all his equitable violence is the only answer, for the death of a puppy, which was given as a last gift from his deceased wife.

In a press release, Lionsgate Films executive Jason Constantine was thrilled with the official outcome despite not imparting any clues to the plot details and to a possible cast list:

"With such tremendous fan and critical support for John Wick, we knew that there was still so much more of the story to tell," Constantine explained. He added that this "was a creative way of saying "thanks for giving us money, John Wick fans".

Just last February, Director Chad Stahelski had already spilled the beans to their audience that a sequel was definitely brewing in the 'John Wick' camp:

"We have ideas for days and without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original. It's the matter of story and how much you like the character," Stahelski told Movies.com . "So we want to make sure we have a story and a character that everybody loves and then we'll dress it with action that we promise will be awesome."

"John Wick", also starred Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, and Willem Dafoe. 'John Wick' had a modest budget of $20 million budget which yielded a box office return of about $78.7 million.
