After it was confirmed the 'X-Files' season 6 renewal, fans are now getting excited as to the development of the upcoming season. Latest series updates revealed that Season 6 will be a reboot, which means that the show will be treated as six-hour film. It is also speculated that The Lone Gunmen will return to create new creepy mystery, and the vets Glen Morgan and James Wong will write and direct.

Right after the 'X-Files' was confirmed to return for Season 6, reports were surfacing around the internet on the things to expect. Latest 'X-Files' Season 6 update revealed that The Lone Gunmen will return for the series. They are expected to create a new creepy mystery instead of the US government conspiring to fly a plane into the World Trade Center.

Another, Vince Gilligan recently confirmed that he will not return for Fox's upcoming 6-episode revival due to his commitment on 'Breaking Bad' spinoff 'Better Call Saul'. His departure, however, will pull back the veterans from the 'X-files' first season, including the writer-producers Glen Morgan and James Wong. However, they will not be paired up, as each of them will get to write and direct one episode apiece.

Meanwhile, 'X-Files' Season 6 reboot will not have 25 new episodes, but the upcoming series will be treated as a six-hour film. It was told that the cast could not possibly do another 25 episode series because of their commitments to other shows. Thus, a shortened series appealed to them. Fox also don't want to do another 'X-files' film after "hurting the franchise" with the second movie, which was released fifteen years after the show has started on TV.

The 'X-Files' is set to start their production this summer, and is expected to premiere next year although it has not yet been announced. Are you excited for 'X-Files' Season 6 reboot?
