Apple's latest profit earnings show that more people prefer 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhones. However, there is still 5% left that prefer smaller iPhones, specifically 4-inch versions. This constitutes to 10 million potential sales. Apple wants to enter in this market. Hence, the company may release three new iPhones this September: 4-inch iPhone 7 Mini, 4.7-inch iPhone 7, and 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus.
Apple had another strong quarter earnings due to its more than 61 million iPhone sales, with the larger screen being a huge hit with buyers. According to estimates, Apple's profit was possibly more than 40%. This left many wondering what's in store for the company's flagship carrier as new iPhone launch is coming near on September.
One report suggests that the company launch three new models. Though the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus contributed greatly to the 61.2 million sold iPhones, there are still people who prefer a smaller iPhone version similar to the 4-inch size of 5s/5c. They may constitute to about 5%, it is still a 10 million potential sales.
This year, Apple can release two larger iPhones: iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus that will have similar screen sizes to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The company may stop iPhone 5s and 5c, however Apple could utilize those product lines and produce a 4-inch model with improved specs and features, making it the third model. This could be reportedly called the "iPhone 7 Mini." Hence, Apple can release the following new models:
- 4-inch iPhone 7 Mini
- 4.7-inch iPhone 7
- 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus
This is possible as KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently tipped investors that the "next-generation iPhone will have a FPC-made capacitive Force Touch sensor." He also added that the Force Touch would change Apple's mind and "call its next iPhone the 'iPhone 7' instead of the so-called 'iPhone 6s.'"
Further, he said that Apple is aiming to produce 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models, but noted that a 4-inch version is "unlikely" this year.
However, a new report from China pointed Apple that the company is ordering camera sensors for the iPhone 6c. This was tipped by two Chinese analysts: Chinese IT department analyst Pan Jiutang and Chief Analyst at Electronic System Design China Sun Changxu. Both are regarded as reliable sources, possibly similar to how others regard Ming-Chi Kuo.
