Filmmaker James Cameron is reportedly not working on just three scripts for the sequels of the hit film "Avatar" as James Horner, the music composer of the movie, revealed the director is penning four scripts. This means that the movie will have four more sequels instead of three.
"Avatar 2" will be delayed regarding its release and fans were left disappointed but they are sure to get giddy as to the latest update of the film. However, Horner was quick to say that the director is trying to stick to just three sequels but as of late, he is stuck with four.
Director James Cameron previously announced that "Avatar 2" will be released by 2017 and not in 2016 as he wanted to finish all the pending scripts before they start with the second installment's production. The production for "Avatar 2" will be starting later this year.
In an interview, Cameron did talk about not rushing the scripts and the production for the next films. He said, "We've had a couple of years to think through the story arc of the next three films, and every day that goes by, I believe in the stories I'm telling more and more. We're not coming out of the block fast to capitalize on the last film."
According to analysts, there is no surprise that the director wants to polish everything first before starting the production as "Avatar's" script was actually drafted for a solid 15 years before the production started.
As for the release dates of the third and fourth sequel of the film, it will be out in theatres by 2018 and 2019 respectively. It has been six years now since the first "Avatar" film was released.
Avatar is a film produced by 20th Century Fox and the first installment earned over three billion dollars. It is the highest grossing movie in history as of date. Are you excited to watch the sequel of the film? Let us know in the comments!
