It's no secret that fans are starting to turn on American Horror Story. The third season, Coven, was not particularly well-received, and neither was its fourth season, Freak Show. Naturally, excitement for the upcoming fifth season of the FX horror anthology (titled Hotel) is not what it's been in seasons past.
But the presence of Lady Gaga, who'll be starring in the upcoming season, could change all that. Matt Bomer, who starred in a single episode of Freak Show last season and who's been bumped up to a much bigger role, was recently gushing about Gaga and her role in Hotel. Apparently, Bomer is a big fan of the bizarre, unique singer, and he's looking forward to working with her- although, apparently, they haven't met yet. As well, it hasn't been revealed what any of the roles will be for Hotel- nor what the general story will be (other than involving a hotel, obviously).
However, a recent rumor points to the potential story for Hotel- that the titular hotel will also serve as a brothel, with the prostitutes preying on men, torturing and killing them deep within the building's catacombs. As well, there have been rumors about Hotel linking back to the previous seasons of American Horror Story- so for all we know, witches or aliens or demonic possessions (or ghosts or carnival freaks or spooky clowns) could show up at any time.
American Horror Story: Hotel will also star Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, Kathy Bates, Chloe Sevigny, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Angela Bassett- but of course, it'll be a while before we know what any of those roles actually are. Hotel workers (or customers), presumably.
The fifth season of American Horror Story will begin shooting late this summer, and will premiere sometime in October 2015- probably somewhere around Halloween.
