Xiaomi, a China based manufacturer, recently held its launch event in India for the Mi 4i. India is their second biggest market next to China of course, and it was vital that they made their mark in that region. Their event which was deemed a success, showcased their latest smartphone to compete with their rivals, Samsung and Motorola.
The Mi 4i's price was set at 12,999 rupees which comes out to $205. This line was introduced to compete against the Samsung Galaxy Alpha A7 and the Moto G. It is a very attractive price point, one where it will help sell competitvely in India and in Asia where it will be released this month. The Moto G is priced at 12,899 which is at par with the mi 4i so this then, simply becomes a matter of preference.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i and the Motorola Moto G both have a 5 inch screen but they vary in resolution. The Mi 4i is 1920 x 1080 while the Moto G is 1280 x 720. The Mi has a 441 ppi and the Moto only has a 294 ppi. The Mi 4i uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and a 2 GB RAM and an internal memory of 16 GB. The Moto G on the other hand, uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and a 1 GB RAM and an internal memory of only 8 GB. Even their rear cameras share a lot of differences.
The Mi 4i has a 13 megapixel camera along with a two-tone flash and it records in 1080p. The Moto G has an 8 megapixel camera with an LED flash. It only records in 720p. They both use Android 5.0 but again they vary in color availability. You have more choices with Mi as they come in blue, white, yellow, black and pink. For Motorola, it only comes in black and lemon.
These two phones have their pros and cons like every other product out there. The Xiaomi Mi 4i can boast of its 64 bit processor and how it is slim and lightweight. The Motorola Moto G can say the display is protected by gorilla glass and how the dual speaker sound experience is great. Again, all this is a matter of preference and these traits will swing you one way or the other. Just depends which traits are more important to you.
