Penny Dreadful is back for season 2 with its the first episode airing on May 3. While it connects the story of the previous and season 2, it also started to set the mood for another unusual plot while introducing the character and the troubles that they are facing for this season.
The first episode entitled "Fresh Hell" started with a very disturbed Vanessa who is suffering from Evelyn Poole's massive number of mystical images. Ethan on the other hand is packing his things and ready to leave London because of the crime he committed in Mariner's Inn. Dr. Frankenstein, after being pressured by Caliban is trying to bring Brona back to life. Caliban on the other hand applied in wax museum after being fired at the Grand Guignol. Sir Malcom is now back to London only to discover Vanessa on her state.
On the season finale of the show, it can be remembered that Vanessa requested an exorcism from a priest wanting to be normal once and for all. Caliban on the other hand was rejected by his first love leading him to abandon the theatre and going back to Victor's lodgings. Ethan killed two Pinkerton detectives after turning into a werewolf when he was approached by detective and told that they will return him to America back to his father. Meanwhile Sir Malcom killed Mina in order to save Vanessa.
Penny Dreadful was originally a type of 19th-century cheap British fiction that usually revolves around a unusual but popular subject. True to its title the series features multiple characters around that time, Abraham Van Hielsing and Victor Frankenstein to name a few.
The series, considered as a British-American horror drama created by John Logan and airs on the Showtime.
Showtime renewed Penny dreadful for another another ten-episode season 2 that premiered on May 3 and stay tuned for more spoielers on the show's next episode.
