Final Fantasy 15's original launch date in June at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 has been moved by developer Square Enix to August at the Gamescon 2015.
Master Herald reported the change in launch dates citing the decision of Square Enix to further fine-tune the graphics quality of the 15th instalment of the hit video game with the adoption of Luminous Technology.
Final Fantasy XV game director Hajime Tabata confirmed the change in the launching dates stating, "E3 doesn't give us sufficient time to fully prepare to release pertinent information about the game. So I have been discussing with our marketing teams, and we've actually been considering Gamescon in August, instead of E3, as the target for the next major reveal."
The E3 will be held on June 6 to 8 in Los Angeles, California while the Gamescon is scheduled in August 5 to 9 in Cologne, Germany.
The Luminous Technology gives very sharp images at 8K by 8K resolution and textures with 63 million polygons per scene.
There are also hints that a Gameplay demo update on Final Fantasy Episode Duscae will be released in mid-to-late May with new combat features such as weapons, joint attacks, and ways for adjusting the camera and targeting system, according to Gospel Herald.
Tabata notes that Square Enix's openness to gamer feedback has made Final Fantasy XV the only video game with the most transparent and responsive development process. The gameplay demo was used to gather feedback for the remaining development stages of the game. The games director referred particularly to addressing the lag effect when a weapon strikes an enemy and the need to speed up attack animations.
A PC version of Final Fantasy XV might soon be released as well, with its development hinted by the teaser demo shown at the Microsoft Build Developers Conference in San Francisco. The demo "Witch - Chapter 0" showed off the art and tech potential and gameplay on Microsoft Windows 10, specifically DirectX 12, and ran on a high-end PC with four Nvidia GTX 980 graphics cards, according to Realty Today.
Final Fantasy 15 will be released for the PS4 and Xbox One possibly in May 2016.
