Gaspar Noe shocks audiences with risque poster for his upcoming movie, Love

Gaspar Noe has been known for directing some of the more controversial films in recent memory, and it looks as though the director is up to his old tricks yet again with his upcoming movie, Love.

Noe is hinting at the risque nature of his latest film with a new poster that is not exactly one for all ages. The teaser poster was actually first revealed by the film's producer, Vincent Maraval. Maraval goes on to say that the suggestive image is not actually going to be seen in the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's an old visual we used a year ago for presales," said Maraval. Since the release of the first teaser poster, a new, less revealing poster was released ahead of the film showing during the Cannes Film Festival.

Love is not an official entry to the Cannes Film Festival, and will instead only earn a midnight screening during the festivities, according to Deadline. Despite the film not being one of the official entries, it is probably the one film drawing the most attention to the event.

Love tells the story of passion and affection happening between a boy, a girl, and another girl. The film is also expected to be quite racy, as is the norm for Noe. Some of Noe's films, including, perhaps most notably, Irreversible, have featured scenes of great violence, nudity, and other adult elements which would be shocking were it not for the director at the helm of the film.

With the posters released for love as well as the short plot summary given so far, it's easy to suspect that Love will also be another controversial movie added to Noe's filmography. Love is not officially set for distribution in the United States as of yet, according to Indiewire.

The film's reception during the Cannes Film Festival indicate whether the movie will be showing elsewhere anytime soon.
