D23 EXPO 2015 Will Unveil Pixar's 'Finding Dory' And More, Marvel Studios Possibly A No-Show In San Diego Comic-Con

By

Finding Dory, the upcoming follow-up to 2003 critically acclaimed Finding Nemo, will be unveiled in D23 EXPO 2015. The said 3D computer-animated movie from Pixar will be just one of the confirmed movies that will make an appearance in Anaheim, California.

The D23 EXPO is Walt Disney's own variety of Comic-con. Finding Dory will mark the return of Andrew Stanton to Pixar Animation Studios and the director himself will make a live appearance in 'Hall D23' along with other main presentations in August 14, 2015 Friday. The said schedule will also include preview screenings not just of Finding Dory but of Walt Disney Studios 'Zootopia'.

Finding Dory will continue the tale of the absent-minded blue sturgeon fish one year after her misadventures with Marlin and Nemo. Ellen Degeneres, Albert Brooks, Willem Dafoe and Vicki Lewis will be reprising their voice-over roles. Joining the cast will be Diane Keaton (Dory's mother), Eugene Levy (Dory's father) and Kaitlin Olson (Dory's adopted sister, a killer whale).

In related news, rumors have been brewing that Marvel Studios will be a no-show in the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con in July. This will come as no surprise akin to the small Marvel delegation they had during the 2013 comic convention. Walt Disney Studios is Marvel Studios' parent company and like any good offspring it will surely select the paternal activities of the former.

In the Saturday morning of the three-day event, Walt Disney Studios will continue its staging of previews. 'Alice through the Looking Glass', a fantasy film slated for May 27, 2016 and 'The Jungle Book' an adventure film based on a children's book slated for April 15, 2016 will be shown alongside the Marvel and Lucasfilm footages. More information can be found at D23EXPO.com.

'Finding Dory' is scheduled for a future release date of July 17, 2016.
