On Tuesday, May 5, Frostburn Studios officially announced that they have been established as the new developer for Heroes of Newerth (HoN) in behalf of Southeast Asian game platform Garena. Original HoN developers S2 Games have high hopes for the new team behind the widely popular multiplayer game.

Frostburn Studios is a subsidiary of Southeast Asian consumer internet platform provider Garena based in Kalamazoo, Michigan where another development location for S2 Games is based. Garena has been notable in facilitating established games to create a sustainable following with gamers in Asia. HoN is a multiplayer online battle arena videogame that pits two teams of players against one another. Each player selects a Hero with a unique skill set and ability to defend their respective areas. The objective of the game is to destroy the other team's central structure, or force them to submit.

"After working with Garena and witnessing the success we had with HoN in Southeast Asia, I couldn't be more confident in Heroes of Newerth's future," said Marc DeForst, CEO of S2 Games.

S2 Games officially released Heroes of Newerth in May of 2010, later re-released as free-to-play in 2011. Frostburn Studios is a tight-knit team of dedicated and passionate HoN gamers that are devoted to developing the best interactive and intense gaming environment while maintaining stability and in-game features. This year, S2 Games is confident that the Michigan-based Frostburn Studios will keep the integrity of the game, while developing the game and redefining the player's gaming experience.

Garena's Frostburn Studios is now the official game developer for Heroes of Newerth. S2 Games is confident in the dedication of the new team in developing the popular online battle arena in Europe.
