Super Smash Bros. recently had its Mewtwo DLC release with the latest updates to add excitement for the gameplay. According to news, they brought fixes to the occurring glitches from the game. Upon release, too, the game developing team was mentioned to raise money for the Nepalese community, who were lately survivors of the tragic earthquake.
Invitational participant and live streamer Neha "Lilo" Chhetri was reported to raise as much as $4,000 intended for donations for the Nepal earthquake survivors' relief goods. This is already a big help for the victims, who have survived the tragic event in the said country.
The said phenomenon had happened in Nepal around two weeks ago that killed thousands thereafter. Several survivors were rescued from the destroyed buildings, covered with big debris that scattered all over the place.
Behind this move is a huge concern for her countrymen, because Chhetri is also a Nepali herself. Because of that she is able to host a 9 hour donation stream through her personal Twitch channel to stream the Super Smash Bros. Melee while chatting with other players competing to inform them of the main purpose of the move she did.
Initially, she was able to raise around $1,000 then became $4,080.08 [exact amount collected] all throughout the game streaming.
Nepal Earthquake was one of the strong occurrences that happened in Asia apart from the other neighboring countries like Japan and Philippines, who also had the same experiences of a 7-magnitude earthquake and beyond. To be exact, the country experienced 7.8 magnitude earthquake last April 25.
This step made by Cheetri is uncommon for the gaming industry, labelled as "video game charities." They said that it is not frequent to notice or observe some players to do an endeavour for charity purposes like what she did for her own country.
Like Chhetri, another YouTuber also donated 1 UK pound every time he dies in the game Bloodborne. This is in support to the leukemia and lymphoma research. Hopefully, there would be another sets of charities to run in the future, but that does not mean praying for more disasters to come.
Meanwhile, Super Smash Bros. also added version 1.0.7 patch last month. The said patch brought new answers or responses to the glitches found in the game. Based from what Club Nintendo mentioned before, they intentionally developed this patch in order to make their avid players to enjoy the game with ease.
With that, they said that the players will no longer force their selves to go to eShop immediately in order to new updates since they can just do it within the game per se. Update 1.0.7 comprise of a big file with 21MB for Wii U console and 1,715 blocks for 3DS, on the other hand. Mewtwo DLC also eliminated and patched the cloning ability of players that could affect the entire game at the end of Super Smash Bros. game.
On the other side, Super Smash Bros. 4 brings new fighters to join roster. Along with these new characters will be their new costumes for the Nintendo gameplay. Masahiro Sakurai, the game director, said that this addition was made to enthral gamers to make the game fresher and updated.
He also added that the main intention of adding this new character is for the benefit of the gamers alike. So far, according to him, this is one of the biggest undertaking that the game developer has made possible just to make their avid fans pleased with the kind of gameplay they could get from Super Smash Bros. 4, Mewtwo DLC.
