Mentor Graphics Corp. said it has expanded its automotive business unit after it purchased certain assets from MontaVista LLC.
The move positions Mentor Graphics as the number 1 commercial provider of automotive-in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) solutions based on Linux operating system.
The company's automotive infotainment solution is set to feature the capabilities of MontaVista Automotive Technology platform combined with the Mentor Graphics Embedded Infotainment Base Platform after completion of integration. This is also expected to pair with sophisticated development tools that include Sourcery CodeBench and Sourcery Analylzer.
Mentor Graphics Open Source Embedded Solutions general manager Mark Mitchell said in a statement that they expect engineering team with unparalleled activities once the MontaVista Automotive assets are completely integrated with Mentor Graphics automotive businesses.
