The film adaption of one of the well-known works of Shakespeare, "Macbeth," is being anticipated during the Cannes Film Festival as word got around that the flick will be grim and bloody resulting to critics not wanting to miss it.
According to a report, the movie "Macbeth" has garnered attention since the stars for the tragedy film are Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. Also, the producer of the film, Justin Kurzel, is making critics want to watch "Macbeth" all the more because of the blockbuster films that were produced by him.
In a recent interview, Marion Cottilard shared that this is the first time she has played a character with no light at all and has total darkness when it comes to her role. Cotillard will be playing the iconic manipulator Lady Macbeth and she added in the interview: "And when she loses control ... I'm affected by the character I live with when I'm shooting, so I lost control of everything, like her, and it was really hard to handle."
Cottilard added in another interview that the role given to her as Lady Macbeth was her dream role as the depth of humanity in her was driven away by fear and despair.
The actress also had nothing but high praises for her counterpart, Michael Fassbender. She shared, "I saw a lot of movies [Fassbender] was in, and I have the feeling he's reached another level here. When you start a scene and you don't really know where you're going to go, that's a roller-coaster. Many times I was surprised by what he does in this movie, and this is priceless."
This will not be the last film that Cotillard and Fassbender will be working together as they were also casted by Kurzel for the 2016 movie adaptation of the game "Assassin's Creed."
"Macbeth" still has no trailer released although the movie will be shown during the Cannes Film Festival by May 23, 2015 in France. The movie's release date for the United States is still undetermined.
