"The Hateful Eight" will be released in theaters this November. Quentin Tarantino's Eight movie is still being filmed in Wyoming and its still shrouded in mystery. The acclaimed director admits that the upcoming film may have been cancelled due to the leaked scripts a year ago.
Quentin Tarantino's upcoming murder mystery film, The Hateful Eight has become a mystery in itself. About a year ago, an initial draft of the script found its way online and was even available for download in PDF format via online media conglomerate, Gawker.
In retaliation, Tarantino threatened to sue Gawker and even announced The Hateful Eight's cancellation. A year later, Tarantino has spoken up about the incident.
"I almost regret the whole suing Gawker because it actually took the light off of what was important. My whole thing wasn't against Gawker, it was against Hollywood practices that have just been considered okay." said Tarantino.
Tarantino would later change his mind about not making The Hateful Eight a reality and made up for this by doing a live reading of the changed script. This was met with much success, and was a way of showing that the director has since moved forward with the film's production.
A source says that The Hateful Eight will premiere this November. The reports have also stated that the filiming will commence in Wyoming.
Still Tarantino admits that he is yet to uncover who was responsible for the script being leaked online in the first place. The director is is known for being careful and guarded when it comes to his scripts. Tarantino has admitted that it will remain a mystery.
"It was interesting because I wrote a mystery but I eventually kind of decided I didn't want to know who did it. I figured out who the three people it was least likely to be were and who the three people it was most likely to be were, and I was able to just say to myself, 'It's one of those six.'"" Tarantino said.
The Hateful Eight stars Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tim Roth and Bruce Dern. The Western is currently in production and will be released late this year.
