SAP AG said it will acquire leading inventory and service-level optimization software solutions provider SmartOps to pave way for its plan to develop supply chain software solutions that are real time.
The acquisition is set to leverage the SAP HANA Platform which was created in the hope for empowering customers in running business in real-time though analysis, adjustments, reaction and prediction.
SmartOps has created algorithms that streamline supply chain management (SCM) processes to eliminate uncertainty and risks. Such algorithms use predictive analytics aimed at managing global distribution networks and vast supply chains.
Main attributor of the acquisition is the fact that rapid but accurate forecast is needed to increase highest customer satisfaction.
It is also expected that SAP customers would highly benefit from the optimization software solutions once the deal is closed.
